What’s a MEHKO?

MEHKO stands for Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation—a California program that allows small, home-based cooks to legally prepare and sell food.

Two women preparing food in a kitchen. One woman is older and the other is younger, both smiling and wearing aprons. The younger woman is holding a piece of dough. There are trays of food and bowls on the counter, and a framed sign in the background with the word 'LOVE' and the phrase 'PUP!SAS'.
Why is it awesome?

It means your food is cooked in a real home kitchen (regulated, permitted and health-inspected). You’re eating small batches, made with care and you’re directly supporting local families and culture.
